Acceptable Use Policy

The official and binding version of this policy is in Dutch.

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out what is and isn't allowed when using ID-Euro's services. It supplements our terms and conditions; where they conflict on the use of the services, this policy prevails.

Scope

This policy applies to all ID-Euro (Upstream) services: domain registration, web hosting, VPS and cloud servers, SSL certificates and email. It applies to everyone who uses our services or platform: customers, licence holders, resellers and end users. As a customer, you are responsible for all use of your account, including by people to whom you grant access.

Permitted use

You use our services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with this policy, our terms and conditions and applicable law.

Prohibited use

You may not use our services for, or in connection with, among other things:

  • illegal content or activities, or content that incites violence, hatred or criminal offences;
  • infringement of intellectual property rights, such as copyright, trademarks or related rights;
  • spam, phishing, scams, fraud or other deceptive practices;
  • distributing or hosting malware, viruses or other harmful software;
  • hacking, unauthorised access, port scanning, denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) or other attacks;
  • open mail relays, open proxies, botnets, fast flux or command-and-control infrastructure;
  • unauthorised cryptomining;
  • excessive or improper use of shared resources that disrupts the service for others;
  • circumventing, testing or undermining security measures without our permission.

Risky or restricted activities

Some activities are only allowed under conditions:

  • sending bulk email or marketing email requires our prior written permission and compliance with anti-spam legislation;
  • adult content is only permitted where legally allowed and with appropriate age and access restrictions;
  • applications with heavy or unusual resource usage must be discussed with us in advance.

Legal compliance and sanctions

You use our services in accordance with Belgian and European law, including the GDPR, consumer law and telecommunications regulations. Our services may not be used in a manner that breaches applicable sanctions and export regulations, nor by persons or entities subject to such sanctions.

Responsibility for third parties and sub-users

You are fully responsible for the conduct of your employees, subaccounts and end users. If you offer our services as a reseller or on behalf of third parties, you impose on them at least equivalent usage rules to this policy and ensure they are followed.

Security

You keep your systems and software up to date, use strong and unique passwords and protect your credentials. You report any vulnerabilities or security incidents to us as soon as possible.

Monitoring and enforcement

We are not obliged to monitor the use of our services, but we reserve the right to do so and to investigate content or traffic when we suspect a breach or when the law requires it. In the event of an established or suspected breach of this policy, we may, at our reasonable discretion and depending on the severity, take measures ranging from a warning to restricting, suspending or permanently terminating the service or account, and deactivating the domain names involved. For serious breaches this may happen immediately and without prior notice. Fees already charged are not refundable in that case.
